EU Omnibus directive · WooCommerce

Show the lowest price of the last 30 days. Automatically, and with proof.

Every discount in an EU shop must state the lowest price of the previous 30 days. WooCommerce does not do this. PriceProof records every price change, calculates the correct reference for each sale and shows it under the price, in the language of your shop. When it cannot prove a figure, it shows nothing instead of a wrong number.

Why shops get this wrong

The rule has applied since 28 May 2022 (Directive 2019/2161). Authorities in Germany, Poland, France and the Netherlands enforce it, and competitors send warning letters. Most shops fail for one of three reasons.

No history

WooCommerce only knows the current price. Without a record of the last 30 days there is nothing to show, so shops guess or leave it out.

Wrong reference

The reference is the lowest price before the reduction started, per variation. Plugins that use "the last 30 days including today" show the sale price itself.

Fake discounts

A price raised shortly before a sale makes the "was" price illegal. Nothing in WooCommerce warns you before the campaign goes live.

How it works

1

Activate

From that moment every price change is recorded: product editor, quick and bulk edit, REST API, CSV import, scheduled sales and plugins that write prices directly. One record per change, not per page view.

2

Import past orders

Every paid order proves what a customer paid on that day. One click under Tools covers the 30-day window for products you have sold, right after installation, without guessing.

3

Put products on sale as usual

PriceProof adds "Lowest price in the last 30 days: €…" under the price on product pages, in shop lists and for the selected variation. Built-in wording for 15 languages.

Free versus Pro

The free plugin is complete: it records, calculates and displays. Pro adds the tools that keep a shop out of trouble before a campaign and prove what happened afterwards.

FeatureFreePro
Price history per product and variation, with source and user
Lowest price in the 30 days before the reduction (progressive discounts handled)
Display on product pages, lists and selected variations; shortcode and template function
Import from past orders; take over data from Omnibus (iworks) and WC Price History
Never shows a figure the history cannot back up
Tamper-evident SHA-256 hash chain, configurable retention
Campaign planner: which reference may you show on the start date, is the planned price a real reduction, from which date can the full regular price be used
Fake-discount guard: a sale price that is not below the reference is shown as a plain price, without strikethrough, badge or lowest-price line
Google Shopping check: will the sale label appear (base price 30 of 200 days, 5–90 % discount, ≤30 days)
Audit: chain verification, CSV export of every record, printable report per period or product
Daily alert e-mail for sale products without enough history and guarded products

What Pro does before and after a campaign

Plan Black Friday in September

Enter the start date and discount. Per product PriceProof shows the reference that will apply on that day, warns when a recent price increase caps it, and tells you the first date the full regular price may be used.

Stop fake discounts automatically

If a sale price is not below the documented reference, the storefront shows a plain price. No strikethrough, no "Sale!" badge, no misleading line. Your team sees why in the overview.

Turn compliance into extra sales

Google Shopping only shows the "Sale" label when the base price was charged 30 of the last 200 days and the discount is between 5 and 90 %. PriceProof already has that history and tells you per product.

Prove it months later

Authorities and lawyers ask about a campaign long after it ended. Export a CSV with every record, its source, the user and the hash chain, or print a dated report per period.

Pricing

Pro is sold through Freemius, a secure checkout that handles VAT and invoices. Your subscription renews yearly and can be cancelled at any time; the plugin keeps working after expiry, only updates and support stop.

Frequently asked questions

Does this make my shop legally compliant?

PriceProof applies the price-reduction rules correctly and documents everything, but it is a tool, not legal advice. Member states differ on details such as progressive discounts, perishable goods and products newer than 30 days. Check the guidance of your national consumer authority.

I just installed it and my sale products show nothing. Why?

PriceProof only shows a reference price when its history covers the 30 days before the reduction started. Import your past orders under Tools; every paid order records the price of that day. Products newer than 30 days show the lowest price since launch. For special cases you can set a documented manual reference on the product.

Which WooCommerce and WordPress versions are supported?

WordPress 6.6 or newer, WooCommerce 9.0 or newer, PHP 8.1 or newer. Block themes and classic themes, HPOS, variable products. Single-site installations.

Does it slow down my shop?

No. A record is written only when a price actually changes, and the reference for a page is one indexed query per sale product.

What happens when my Pro subscription ends?

The installed plugin keeps working. You stop receiving updates and support until you renew. The free plugin is unaffected.

Where is my data stored?

In your own WordPress database. The plugin makes no external requests. Pro contacts the license server only to validate your license and check for updates.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. Contact nabbe.j82@gmail.com.
